How to read this

24K is pure gold (999). It is what bars and coins are made of; it is too soft for jewellery that gets worn.

22K (916) is what almost all Indian gold jewellery is made in. The rate is 0.916 × the 24K rate. Every 22K piece we sell carries the BIS 916 hallmark and a HUID.

18K (750) and 14K (585) are used for diamond and stone-set pieces, where a harder alloy holds the setting.

Your bill shows the gold weight, the rate for that karat, the making charge, any stone value, and GST — each on its own line. Compare it with any other shop’s.

Questions about the rate

Is this the price I will pay at the counter?
No. This is the metal rate per 10 grams. At billing, the making charge is added as its own line, then 3% GST on the total. Ask us for the counter rate on the day — call before you set out.
Why is 22K cheaper than 24K?
22K is 91.6% gold, alloyed with copper and silver so it is hard enough for everyday jewellery. Its rate is 0.916 times the 24K rate. Almost all Indian jewellery is 22K (hallmarked 916) or 18K (750).
Where does this rate come from?
From IBJA, the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association, which publishes the benchmark rates Indian jewellers quote against. It already includes import duty and the domestic premium, which is why it is higher than the international spot price converted to rupees.
How often does it change?
IBJA publishes a morning and an evening rate on working days. This page refreshes every ten minutes. Rates move with the international market and the rupee, so the figure you see on the day you buy is what applies.
How do you value my old gold against this rate?
Old gold is weighed and tested in front of you and valued at the day's rate for its purity, less any stones or non-gold parts. We explain the deduction before you agree. You do not need to have bought it from us.
